The airport is situated 40km (25 miles) from Bengaluru, in Devanahalli.
Airport News
Bengaluru International Airport opened on the 24 May 2008, taking over all commercial flights operating out of Bangalore International Airport (HAL). A high-speed electric train is planned to connect the airport with the city, but no date of completion has been announced. A new express toll road is also planned to connect the airport to the city’s ring road at Hennur.

The airport is located east of the Bengaluru-Hyderabad national highway (NH7).
Car Parking
There is a car park for 2,000 cars in front of the terminal building at the ground level.

Hertz and Akbar Travels have desks at the airport.
Public Transport
Road
Bus: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation operates an airport shuttle service connecting various locations in the city to the airport. Shuttles on each of the nine routes run at least once every 30 minutes.
Taxi: Easycabs (tel: (80) 4343 4343) and Meru (tel: (80) 4422 4422) operate taxis from the designated taxi area and in front of the terminal building.
Information and Help Desks
Information counters are located in the arrivals hall and outside the terminal building. They are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: There are ATMs and bureaux de change, a postal service and free Wi-Fi Internet access at the airport.
Eating and drinking: Several cafes and restaurants are operating.
Shopping: There is a large duty-free outlet in international departures. Domestic departures also has several shops selling books, electronics, clothing and crafts.
Luggage: A porter service is available.
Other facilities: There are four baby care rooms.
Conference and Business Facilities
A 10,000-seat convention centre is due to open in July 2008. There are four lounges.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
Travellers requiring special assistance should contact their airline prior to departure. The airport is fully accessible, with lifts and disabled toilets.
Hotels
The Oberoi Group will be operating a 321-room hotel with conference facilities and a spa under the Trident Hilton brand from November 2008. It will be within walking distance of the terminal.
