Bus: An intercity bus service operates from the airport. Buses leave for Colombo every 30 minutes.

The information desk is located on the first floor of the terminal building. In addition to offering information relating to travel or the airport’s facilities, it also has fax and photocopying equipment for use by travellers.

Money and communications: Six banks operate at the arrival lobby providing currency exchange facilities. A post office is also available. Telephone booths can be found in the arrival, departure and transit areas. A communications counter is located in the transit lounge with international direct dialling and fax facilities. Eating and drinking: A restaurant run by Sri Lankan Airlines is located in the transit lounge and serves local and international cuisine. Another restaurant that serves snacks, meals and hot and cold beverages is located in the departure lobby. Shopping: Several duty-free shops are available in the arrival and departure halls selling a variety of products, including electrical and electronic items, wines and spirits, handicrafts, silk items, jewellery, perfumes and teas. Luggage: Travellers visiting Sri Lanka for up to 45 days can take advantage of the airport’s bond baggage facility (tel: 112 252 861, ext 3019). The baggage will be checked by customs and airport security and will then be sealed and transferred to the departure terminal where it will be stored until your next flight. Inquiries about lost luggage should be directed either to the information desk or to the airline office. Other facilities: A first aid centre staffed with qualified nurses is located in the arrival immigration area. Fully air-conditioned day rooms with attached toilets are available in the arrival and departure halls for transit passengers who wish to stretch out and rest. Shower rooms are also available, in the transit lounge.

A business centre is located on the ground floor, in the transit hall. International direct dialling, fax and photocopiers are available. In addition, there are four business and first class lounges at the airport.

Eating and drinking: Excellent restaurants and self-service cafeterias are located on the ground floor and first floor of the passenger terminal.
Shopping: The duty-free shops on the first floor in the departure area offer a wide range of goods such as cigarettes, liquor, perfumes, cosmetics, books, stationery, clothing, toys, electronics, confectionery, flowers and souvenirs. Special souvenir shops are located in the departure and transit lounges. A flower shop can be found just opposite the post office. The airport’s pharmacy is located just outside the first aid office, next to the Bank of Maldives airport branch.
Luggage: A 24-hour lost and found counter can be found in the security office in the departure lounge.
Other facilities: The airport has shower rooms for use by travellers. A health care centre for first aid and minor health emergencies is available at the terminal building. A special care service is available for expectant mothers and newly born babies. Travellers should contact the airport’s public relation officer at the information counter about this. An outdoor children’s play park and a play area in the transit area are available. There is a prayer room on the first floor of the departure terminal. A fully air-conditioned mosque is located a short walk from the terminal building.
Conference and Business Facilities
The Finifenmaa Lounge is located on the first floor and is equipped with satellite TV, Internet access, telephones and a fax machine. Refreshments are also available.
Facilities for Disabled Travellers
Facilities adjusted to meet the needs of people with physical disabilities include the lifts and toilets. Wheelchairs are available.

Transfer Between Terminals

The airport terminals are spread over two different locations 4km (2.5 miles) apart in the north of Mumbai. Terminal 2 is located at Sahar, and deals with international flights. Terminal 1, which deals with domestic flights only, is located at Santa Cruz. Free inter-terminal coach services transfer passengers between the terminals every 20 minutes during the day.
